
Kindermann Stefan Emmanuel Sylvester

Austrian Grandmaster (1988) who played many years for Germany.
Kindermann started playing chess at the age of 12 and went on to study Philosophy. He was a member of the German team which won the silver medal at the World Student Championship in 1983.
Professional chess player since 1978 and has won many Open tournaments like: Thessalonika 1979, Courcheval and Rhodes 1980, Dubai 1982, Wijk aan Zee II 1982, Bad Aibling 1982, Zurich 1984, Dortmund 1985 (shared), Wolfsberg 1986, Biel II 1987, Bad Worishoffen 1987 and 1989, Cuxhaven, Munster and Baden Baden 1993, Vienna, Gausdal and Munster 1994, Ptju Zonal 1995 and he was second at the National Championship 1996 and in Vienna 2003.
Kindermann was a member of the German national squad from 1982 until 1996 and has participated in six Olympiads. Since 2005 he is playing for Austria.
Author of French Winawer (2001), Exchange Spanish, Leningrad Dutch, Schach (2006) and columnist in the Süddeutschen Zeitung. He is running a chess academy in Munich. Best ELO: 2585.
