Biography

Armenian GM (1997) coached by his father and studied with Akopian. Champion of Armenia in 1999 and 2007. Five times Armenian Youth Champion U18. World Championships U-20 in 2000. Won Dubai in 2001, Minsk in 1998, Tigran Petrosian Memorial 2004. A participant to 6 Olympiads between 1996 and 2006 where he was awarded one Gold medal on the 5th board and a Bronze medal in 2002 at board 4. He was also a member of the team which won the Olympiad title in 2006. A participant in the 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2004 World championships. He died of a heart attack at Yerevan. Best ELO: 2646 in 2006.
