Biography

Filipino Grandmaster (1993) known as ‘Joe’ who won the Asian Rapid Championship in 1988 and 1994. Few times national champion he participated at the 1999 World Championship and in the 2009 World Cup.

Best results: Sydney 1991, 2^nd; Bacalod 1991, 2^nd; Grenting zonal 1995, 2^nd; Yangon zonal 1998, 1^st; Bangkok Open in 2003, 1^st; Asian Zonal 2003,1^st; Dato Tan Open Kuala Lumpur 2005, 2^nd; Phoenix Petroleum & Dapitan City Battle of GMs 2009, ^nd.

A participant in the Olympiads since 1988. Bronze medalist in the ASEA championship in 2001 and in the Asian individual in 2009. A member of the winning team at the Asian Club Team Championship in 2004.

Best ELO: 2558 in 1999.
