Italy Caruana Fabiano (30.07.1992)

Italian Grandmaster (2007) born in USA and living in Lugano, Switzerland. Pan-American U10 Champion in 2002 and Pan-American U12 Champion in 2003. Champion of Italy in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011. On 28th September 2002, 10 years, 61 days old at the time, Fabiano became the youngest player ever to defeat a Grandmaster in a USCF rated tournament. In 2006 he moved to the Italian ranking list and plays for the Italian national team since then.

Best results: World Youth Stars 2006, 3rd; Vlessingen 2007, 1st; Moratalaz (ESP) Open 2007, 1st; Ascala de Henares  Open 2007, 1st; Budapest FS04 and FS07 GM 2007, 1st, Wijk aan Zee C 2008, 1st; Wijk aan Zee B, 2009, 1st, Biel 2010, 1st; AAI International Grandmasters (IND) 2011, 1st.

A participant in the 2009 World Cup where he reached the 4th round after beating Lazaro Bruzon, Lainier Dominguez and Evgeny Alekseev. A participant in the Olympiads since 2008. Fabiano has been coached by Bruce Pandolfini, Miron Sher, Boris Zlotnik, Elizbar Ubilava, Alexander Chernin and Vladimir Chuchelov.

Best ELO: 2736 in 2012, he is the best World U20 ranked.
