Armenian Grandmaster (1993). Armenia Champion in 1983, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988 and 2005.
Winner at Aegina in 1993, Katowice Open in 1993, Petrosian Memorial in 1994, Budapest Elekes Memorial in 1999, Abu Dhabi 1999, 2005 and 2006. A member of the national team between 1992 and 2004, he won a bronze medal at the 1997 World Team Championship and Yerevan 2001 and a gold medal at the 2000 Olympiad for the best individual performance at board 4. Coach of the women national team since 2010. Best ELO: 2606 in 2000.
