Biography

Armenian Grandmaster (1997) born in Georgia who played for sometime for Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Czech Champion 1998. Silver medalist at the European Individual Championship 2008. Bronze medalist at the World Junior in 1997. Quarterfinalist of the World Cup 2000 and quarterfinalist of the 1999 World Championship.

Winner in Pardubice 1995, Hamburg 1997, Groningen 1998 and Bosna in 2002 and 2007, Carlsbad Czech Coal 2007, Chigorin Memorial 2007, Wijk aan Zee B in 2008. In match, he lost to David Navara 3,5-2,5 in 2011.

A participant in the Olympiads for the Czech Republic in 1998 and 2000 and for Slovakia at board 1 since 2002. In 2011 he won a team gold medal at the World Team Championship.

Movsesian is married with Woman Grandmaster Petra Krupkova.

Best ELO: 2751 in 2009; he was the tenth world best-rated player.
