Biography

Qatar Al-Modiahki Mohamad (01.06.1974)
First Qatari Grandmaster (1998). A talented Arab player often present in the major FIDE events such as Olympiads and World Championships. Unfortunately the lack of invitations to European tournaments denied him a chance to cross the border of 2600 ELO.

Mohamed was awarded a gold medal at the Olympiad of Yerevan in 1996 and of Elista in 1998 for the best performance (7½/8) on board one. He was also was awarded a bronze medal for best individual performance at board 1 at Moscow in 1994 and at Bled in 2002 Olympiads.

Four times Arab Champion between 1993 and 2002. Arab Blitz Champion 2011. Regular winner of FIDE Zonal tournaments, he was a participant in all world chess championships between 1997 and 2004.

Married Zhu Chen, the 2001 World Women Champion.

Coached by Gennadi Kuzmin, Vladimir Akopian and Victor Bologan. Best ELO: 2588 in 2003.
