Biography

English problemist. Feather was a languages graduate and a schoolmaster for many years. Since 1967 he has composed over 1600 problems, mostly helpmates, a field in which he is the leading British exponent and an acknowledged expert. In 1994 he published Black to Play, the first attempt at developing a systematic theory of the modern helpmate.
