Biography

English problemist. President of British Chess Problem Association (1947-1949). He has composed 450 orthodox problems in two or three moves. Editor of chess columns in The Observer (1919-1955), Morning Post (1931-1937). Author of Mate in Two Moves( 1931), Mate in Three Moves (1943), Chess for the Fun of it (1933), and Chess and its Stars (1936).
