
Irish problemist, pseudonym J.G.C. A participant in the first chess composition tournament ‘ERA’ in London in 1856 and in the Manchester chess club tournament in 1857. He published around 50 problems three- and more-movers. One of the strongest of London’s player who played Adolf Anderssen (+1-1). He left his name to a variation of the Kieseritzky Gambit.
