Biography

Argentine Grandmaster (1960). Six times Argentine Champion, in 1941, 1944, 1945, 1947, 1961 and 1972. Best results in the international tournaments: Mar del Plata 1949, 1^st; Mar del Plata 1952 and 1964, 1^st -2^nd; Rio de Janeiro and Barcelona 1952, 1-2^nd Tarragona 1952, 1-2^nd Portoroz 1958, 1^st Montevideo 1961, Zonal championship 1963, 1^st; Treliu 1972, 1^st-2^nd.

A participant in six Olympiads between 1950 and 1972, winning the individual gold medal at board 5 in 1952 and three team silver medals in 1950, 1952 and 1954. Rossetto captained the Argentina Women’s Team in the 1988 Olympiad. He was a cultured gentleman who is a talented bridge player with an eye for beautiful things. Best ELO: 2420 in 1976.
